Independent PIT Count
Know Our Numbers.
Count Our Community.
In 2026, Lane County stopped conducting the official Point-in-Time count. We believe our unhoused neighbors deserve to be seen and counted. That's why we're organizing an independent, volunteer-powered PIT count throughout the month of August 2026.
Why This Count Matters
Data Drives Funding
Federal and state housing funds are allocated based on PIT count data. Without it, Lane County risks losing millions in critical funding for shelter, housing, and services.
Visibility Creates Action
When we know the true scope of homelessness in our community, we can advocate effectively for the resources and policy changes needed to end it.
Community-Led, Community-Trusted
An independent count led by trained volunteers builds trust and ensures the data reflects the real experiences of unhoused residents, not bureaucratic estimates.
